Background
The webinar series A special issue! features 45-minute webinars with an objective to showcase cutting-edge media and communication research originating from the Nordic countries. The webinars present a newly published special issue of an academic journal to an audience.
The webinars are held in English, but the original research to be presented can be written in any language, as long as it has a Nordic connection. The Nordic connection means that the journal is run by a publisher located in the Nordic region, or at least some of the editors and/or authors are affiliated with Nordic universities. The webinars offer scholars publishing in their national languages (e.g. Scandinavian languages, Icelandic, Finnish, minority languages) a channel to showcase their research to all, also to those who do not have access to the studies because of the language.
