A New Guidebook in the Series: Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Academic Writing and Publishing

How to deal with artificial intelligence (AI) in writing, editing and publishing of academic papers? The new guidebook in the series NordMedia Network Open Educational Resources deals with the author’s relationship to emerging technologies.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is currently being addressed in all sectors of society. While the ethical frameworks are emerging, there are often no established, widely shared and tested best practices. At the same time, the AI technologies are developing very rapidly.

The guidebook Academic AI literacy: Artificial intelligence in scholarly writing, editing, and publishing provides a framework to relate to AI for those who are writing, editing and publishing scientific literature. The booklet is written for doctoral students and junior scholars and can be used as readings on courses and workshops on academic writing.

NordMedia Network Open Educational Resources is a series of online guidebooks dedicated to topics that are in the state of rapid development or marginal. The series was introduced in 2022 with a guidebook on writing academic book reviews. The guidebook Joining the scholarly conversation: The basics of writing an academic book review is openly accessible.

If you have ideas on which topics should be addressed in the series in future, please contact editor-in-chief Maarit Jaakkola, maarit.jaakkola@gu.se.
