The abstract proposals for the upcoming NordMedia Conference have now been reviewed. Personal notifications have been sent to those accepted and rejected via the conference system ExOrdo.
The conference planning committee will decide in mid-May whether the conference will be held as online or onsite event. The registration will open thereafter.
In total, 432 submissions were sent to the NordMedia2021 Conference. Among these, 62 were assigned to the pre-conference that is organized for doctoral students.
The number of pre-conference submissions increased by 48 per cent compared to the pre-conference in Malmö in 2019. A virtual pre-conference allows a higher number of participants as a pre-conference in physical settings. Half of the submissions were thus put onto the waiting list until the decision concerning the form of the conference has been made. They will be given a notice regarding their acceptance in mid-May.
The 25th NordMedia conference will be held in Reykjavík, Iceland, on August 18–20th 2021. The conference theme is Crisis and Resilience: Nordic Media Research in the Frontline. The keynote speaker is professor Eugenia Siapera from the University College Dublin, Ireland.
