Because of technical problems with the payment system, the registration for the NordMedia2021 Conference is closed at the moment and will re-open on 1 June.
Shortly after the opening last week, the registration for NordMedia2021 had to close again due to technical problems.
The conference organizers are now working to solve the issues, and the registration will open again on 1 June.
Registrations for the conference are collected through Ex Ordo – the online system that will host the virtual conference. As participants started to register last week, a technical issue with the acceptance of card payments occurred. Part of the problem turned out to be that Ex Ordo’s arrangement with the online payment system PayPal could not process payments made in Icelandic krona.
– To be a tiny, tiny country with its own tiny, tiny currency obviously has its drawback, says Valgerður Jóhannsdóttir, chair of the planning committee.
The conference fee will now be changed to euro, and when the registration opens on 1 June, both card and bank transfer payments will be accepted. The conference fee is 150 euro for early-bird registrations and 200 euro for registrations made after the early-bird period. Because of the delay, the early-bird period has been extended to 28 June.
