The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, multidisciplinary JYU.Well community, is currently seeking to recruit candidates to the position of 1-4 POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHERS, for a fixed-term period from May 2, 2022 until 31 December, 2024 (or as agreed).
Qualifications we are looking for
JYU.Well is a multidisciplinary community of well-being researchers at the University of Jyväskylä. The aim is to consolidate the university’s strategy “Wisdom and Wellbeing for us all” by bringing together research and education done in different faculties. JYU.Well provides environment and meeting place for researchers, teachers, and students within the multifaceted field of human wellbeing. The JYU.Well community also seeks to increase the societal impacts of research, and to enhance the networking and collaboration opportunities for regional, national, and international actors in the field of wellbeing. The JYU.Well community is committed to increase the scientific understanding of wellbeing and its determinants through a more holistic view of wellbeing that integrates perspectives from different disciplines.
The postdoctoral researcher’s duties include conducting high-quality research in collaboration with representatives of various disciplines, supporting the interdisciplinary development of wellbeing research and activities, and participating in acquiring external funding. The postdoctoral researcher is also expected to participate in societal interaction together with the JYU.Well research community.
Candidates for the postdoctoral position are required to provide evidence of research that significantly contributes to wellbeing research, and a research plan that demonstrates the ability to link their own research perspectives to JYU.Well community and well-being research in other fields (specified linkages to research and related reference within the University of Jyväskylä).
Candidates for the position are required to have a doctoral degree in a relevant field, e.g., in economics, education or psychology, humanities, IT or other technologies, social sciences, sports or health sciences, natural sciences, medicine or law. Strong methodological expertise, provided evidence of interdisciplinary research and participation in interdisciplinary research projects are considered an advantage. The duties, qualification requirements and language skills of a postdoctoral researcher are stipulated by the University of Jyväskylä Regulations and language skills guidelines.

Salary
The annual salary range will be approximately 39,000 EUR EUR for the Postdoctoral Researcher (gross income, including holiday bonus) depending on the qualifications and experience of the candidate. A trial period of six months will be used at the beginning of the employment.
