Communication and Culture I and II, International Business Administration and foreign languages

We are inviting applications for the position of an external lecturer at the Department for Medier, Design, Læring og Erkendelse, Campus Sønderborg, from March 1, 2023. The external lecturer should conduct the teaching within the two subjects “Kommunikation og Kultur I” (5 ECTS) og “Kommunikation og Kultur II” (5 ECTS) in our education program International Business Administration and foreign languages (B.Sc.). They should also assess the contingent student exams. 

Teaching is planned to be held in Danish as a language of instruction, however, English might be permitted to use if study head and study board see fit. 

The courses include a thorough scientific and research-based introduction to theories of communication and culture with a particular emphasis on practical illustrations (cases). Focal points are contemporary models within intercultural communication, international and intercultural business / organization studies and culture studies and cultural sociology. Models may be related to key, relevant areas, i.a., communication between Danish and German agents in the region (companies, municipalities, the Danish & German minorities).  

Applicants should have teaching experience, ideally within higher education. They are expected to have a degree related to the subjects and the study program (e.g., communication studies, culture studies, intercultural management, sociology, business studies). Research experience will be appreciated. The ideal candidate will have a good grasp of the three program languages English, Danish and (to a minor extent) German.

Please note that employees are not required to have lessons every semester during their employment.

External lecturers are paid in accordance with the collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC.
