About the division
The division offers a platform for scholarly papers and discussions which focus on communication theory, the philosophy of communication, and the intellectual history of the field and its tradition.
The division accepts papers that deal with (but are not limited to) such topics as the epistemology and ontology of media and communication, normative approaches to media and communication, paradigm debates in media and communication studies, the ethics of communication and journalism, objectivity and pluralism in the media, media and social theory, new transdisciplinary approaches in media and communication studies, and papers that focus on the future of the discipline.
This division accepts full papers, long abstracts, panel presentations and workshops. Discussants will be appointed to papers and long abstracts. Still, the division also assumes that all participants will read each other’s papers in order for the discussion to be more informed.
