Registration
The registration for the NordMedia2023 conference will open 1 June. Please click the following link to access the registration form: https://form.app.uib.no/NordMedia23.
The early-bird registration ends 28 June. The regular registration starts 29 June.
Conference program highlights and fees
Conference registration will be open from 12:00 to 13:00 (Norwegian time) 16 August. The opening ceremony is scheduled to start 13:00. There will be a gala dinner for conference participants on the 17 August.
The conference is scheduled to close 15:30 (Norwegian time) 18 August.
The conference fee will vary depending on whether you register in the early-bird period and whether you want to attend the gala dinner or not.

The NordMedia 2023 conference is now open for submissions. The biannual conference will take place on 16–18 August at the University of Bergen. The theme of NordMedia23 is Technological Takeover? Social and Cultural Implications – Promises and Pitfalls. A pre-conference for Nordic doctoral students will take place on 15 August.

We are proud to introduce NordMedia23’s opening keynote: Nicholas Diakopoulos, associate professor in Communication Studies and Computer Science at Northwestern University, USA. He is an expert on computational journalism, including aspects of automation and algorithms in news production, algorithmic accountability and transparency, and social media in news contexts. He is the author of the award-winning book, Automating the News: How Algorithms are Rewriting the Media, published by Harvard University Press.
Panel Discussion
The topic of the NordMedia23 panel discussion will approach the overall conference theme from various Nordic perspectives. More information on the panel discussion will be announced soon.
