Annu Perälä is a grant researcher at the School of Marketing and Communication at the University of Vaasa, Finland.
Annu’s research interests centre on climate change communication. In her doctoral dissertation, she focuses on communication on climate change adaptation, examining both media portrayals of adaptation and audience reception of related messages. She has been awarded a four-year personal grant for her work from the Kone Foundation. Annu expects to defend her thesis later this year.
Annu also serves as the subeditor for Media & viestintä, the leading journal in media and communication research in Finland. In the beginning of the year 2025, she was selected as the Science Editor of the Year by the Finnish Association for Scholarly Publishing.
