About

My name is Ayalew Dejen. I am a lecturer of Journalism and Communication at Dilla University; and a PhD candidate of Media Representation of Africa at Andhra University, India. I was a Director for Public and International Relations Office at Dilla University, Ethiopia. I got my BA degree in Journalism and Communication at Dilla University and MA in Multimedia Journalism at Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia. I also attended courses of Masters Arts in Global Journalsim at NLA University College 2019/2020, Kristiansand, Norway.

I did research Senior Essay on the role of investigative journalism in addressing public issues and MA thesis on Media reporting of the Nile politics in the case of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam negotiations from Ethiopia, Egypt and Sudan media houses perspectives. Currently, I am doing a research project on media discourse and propaganda aspects of international and national media reports on the northern Ethiopian war. This project is granted by Dilla University Research and Dissemination Office. I am very much interested in areas such as media discourse, political communication, communication theory and philosophy, media education and literacy etc.
