About

I am a journalist and researcher, with a degree in Philosophy from the University of Coimbra (Portugal) and four years as an exchange student at La Sapienza University in Rome (Italy). I have worked as a correspondent for Público in Italy and the Vatican, and as editor-in-chief of a Portuguese-language daily newspaper in Macau(China).
I furthered my studies at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Barcelona (Macba) in a programme under philosopher Paul B. Preciado. In Macau, I spent ten years as a public radio news editor and talk show host, earning my master’s at Iscte-IUL, Lisbon (Portugal), during the Covid pandemic.
Currently, I am pursuing doctoral research at Iscte-IUL in collaboration with the Chinese University of Hong Kong, supported by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT). At Iscte, I teach international students about Greater China and East Timor: Media, Politics, and Economy, and last year contributed to teaching activities at the Pedagogical University of Maputo (Mozambique).
I also host an active podcast for leading Portuguese newspaper Público, focused on journalism in Mozambique, exploring issues of conflict, trauma, and resilience. My overall interests focus on journalists’ safety, autonomy, and media capture in contexts of vulnerability and risk.
