Cristina Șuteu is assistant lecturer in Musicology at the “Gheorghe Dima” National Music Academy, Cluj-Napoca, Romania. She authored the book Periegeză, exegeză și hermeneutică în critica muzicală [Periegesis, Exegesis and Hermeneutics of Musical Criticism] (Risoprint, 2016), discussing the socio-political context of historical development of music criticism in Romanian periodicals. She deepened research by publishing Revista Muzica 1908-1925: Monografie și Index bibliografic [Muzica Journal: monograph and bibliographic index] (MediaMusica, 2021). In the latest volume she combined diachronic and synchronic approach: critical evaluation of the periodical within an (inter)national historical context of musical periodicals at the conjunction with 3 indexes she made of the journal: index for authors, titles and keywords. Cristina Șuteu is assistant language editor at RIPM: Répertoire International de la Presse Musicale, scientific director of the International Festival "Sigismund Toduta" and editor in chief of the proceedings of Symposium for Doctoral Students – both events within National Music Academy, Cluj. Research interests: musical life reflected in Romanian musical journals; reception of music through musical criticism within socio-political context; music at the crossroads with culture, media and society.
