About

Gunhild Ring Olsen is an associate professor (PhD) in journalism at Kristiania University of Applied Sciences, Oslo, Norway. Her research interests include the digitalisation of journalism, journalism education, journalistic norms and values, and the meaningfulness of journalistic work. Before entering academia, Olsen spent a decade as a journalist and editor. She was a Fulbright visiting scholar at American University's School of Communication from 2014 to 2015 and earned her doctorate from the University of Bergen in 2018. She served as a board member and secretary for the Norwegian Media Research Association for four years. In addition to Kristiania, she has also worked at the journalism departments at Volda University College and OsloMet.
