Jahan Z Ahmed is a PhD candidate in Global Studies at UC Santa Barbara. His transnational research project focuses on the American support for the construction of Islamist knowledge networks and right-wing imagined communities via reflexive circulation of a militant religious discourse in Pakistan (1947-79) in the broader context of cultural cold war.
