The Engagement Imperative: Experiences of Communication Practitioners’ Brand Work in the Music Industry


Jessica Edlom is a PhD student at the Geomedia reserach group, Karlstad University, Sweden. Her research focus on strategic communication, branding, social media, audiences and the popular music industry. She is currently part of the EU-funded Interreg program MECO (Music Ecosystems Inner Scandinavia), that focus on a music industry in transition and the role of both digitalization and audiences, with a special focus on fan engagement.
