I am a historian currently working with the research project ’Svenska Yle: Hundra år av public service på svenska i Finland’ (Swedish Yle: One hundred years of public service in Swedish in Finland) as part of the Yle 100 research program.
In my project I examine the Swedish activities of the Finnish Broadcasting Corporation / Yle from 1926 to 2026. The project focuses on Svenska Yle’s activities and their significance for Swedish in Finland, for Nordic and European exchange and for bilingualism in Finland. The aim is to enrich both the scientific and the general discussion about the importance of the Swedish language for Yle’s public service mission.
