About

Lauri Palsa is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Jyväskylä's Faculty of Education and Psychology in Finland. Currently, in the Movement for Data Literacy research project (2023-2027), he explores the datafication of education.

Palsa focuses on emerging literacies, such as data literacy, media literacy, and multiliteracies, to understand education in a digital world.

Beyond academia, Palsa has a professional background in public administration, policy making, and cross-sectoral cooperation. He co-authored the national policy for media literacy in Finland and currently serves as the chairperson of the Finnish Society of Media Education, an NGO promoting and developing media education.
