Lorella Scacco is an art historian with special interest in Media art, and the intertwining of visual arts and philosophy.
She teaches “Phenomenology of Contemporary Arts” at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan, Italy. In 2021, she taught "History and Theory of Contemporary Art" at the University of the Arts, Helsinki, and "Phenomenology of Contemporary Arts" at the Albertina Academy of Fine arts in Turin. She held lectures and seminars at several Universities, Academies and Foundations in Italy and abroad, such as INHA, Paris (2019), University of Copenhagen (2019), Universities of Helsinki and Turku, Uniarts, Helsinki (2018).
She has a MA Degree in Art History and a BA Degree in Aesthetics, both at the University La Sapienza, Rome. In 2023, she received her PhD Degree at the University of Turku, Finland.
Since 1991, she is registered as a journalist in the Ordine Nazionale dei Giornalisti del Lazio (Italy). She contributes to specialized art magazines, such as Artedossier (Giunti, Florence).
Author of "Estetica mediale. Da Jean Baudrillard a Derrick de Kerckhove" (Guerini, Milano 2004 - 2nd print 2022); "Northwave. A Survey of Video Art in Nordic countries" (Silvana Editoriale, Milan 2009), and "Alberto Giacometti and Maurice Merleau-Ponty. A dialogue on the perception. Phenomenology of art practice" (Gangemi, Rome 2017).
