About

I work as a university lecturer in media and communication studies at the University of Helsinki.

My research explores various dimensions of political communication, journalism, and the public sphere. Currently, I lead a research project on forest journalism ("Journalism and the Finnish forest conflicts", 2024-2027) and another one on war journalism ("Forces of change in war journalism: open source intelligence, information operations, and the pressure of patriotism", 2025-2026).

My previous research has covered various aspects of international political communication, including questions related to the role of the media in the Ukraine conflict, immigration debates, the Eurozone crisis, and economic globalization.
