I am an associate professor in the Department of Audiovisual Techniques and Media Production at Kırklareli University, Turkey. My primary research areas include climate journalism, social movements, political communication, and polarization in the digital sphere. I am the Science Communication Coordinator and researcher for COST Action 22165, titled "Redressing Radical Polarization: Strengthening European Civil Spheres Facing Illiberal Digital Media" (DepolarisingEU). Recently, I received a grant for a short-term scientific mission at OsloMet from August to September, supervised by Prof. Karoline Ihlebæk. The focus of my research is "Civil Society and News Media Interventions for Depolarization: Mapping Initiatives in Nordic Countries." Additionally, during my research on fact-checking organizations, published in the International Journal of Communication, I interviewed practitioners from the fact-checking organizations Faktisk/Tenk in Norway and Faktabaari in Finland.
