My research focuses on the information practices and media and information literacy of young people, examining them as part of technology-mediated everyday life. I approach these research themes with a nexus analytic lens that directs attention to the ways large-scale societal issues are grounded in mundane, everyday actions, the identification of which can become tactics to change. I am Professor in Information Studies at the Research Unit of History, Culture and Communication Studies, Faculty of Humanities, University of Oulu, Finland.
