About

Roy Aulie Jacobsen is currently working as a doctoral research fellow at Kristiania University College. In his doctoral project, he investigates the communication strategies and messaging of political parties and party leaders in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, with a focus on the Scandinavian countries and the three most prominent social media platforms. Employing a cross-national and cross-platform approach, he examines communication patterns among political parties and party leaders during the COVID-19 pandemic, drawing on literature from multiple fields such as history, sociology, communication, and political science to construct a comparative framework. His broad reading across fields allows for a unique approach. Having worked as a researcher, research assistant, and media analyst, Roy has acquired expertise in research methods, analysis tools, and a variety of theoretical frameworks. He has been part of multiple research projects were he has analyzed survey data. Besides political and crisis communication, his research interests include media theory, platformization, political trust, and media systems.
