My specialist areas are journalism and marketing, often in the context of fashion. My students explore readerships and consumers and gain an understanding of the key principles in creating effective content. We also discuss the ethics relating to the fashion and media industries, such as in terms of consumption habits and supply chains. I also teach practical skills, such as Adobe InDesign, and online-writing techniques, such as SEO, and supervise dissertations.
My research lies in haptics, as explored in my thesis 'The impact of haptics on the consumption of journalistic content'. I'm now exploring the physiology of phenomenology, specifically in terms of journalistic technology, such as AR/VR. While my thesis is based in the UK, I'm looking to build on work already existing in the UK, US and Korea with colleagues in the Nordic regions.
