Smith Mehta is an Assistant Professor in the Center for Media Studies and Journalism. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Creative Industries (2021) from the Queensland University of Technology, Australia. His primary focus lies on the digital transformation of the screen industries and its impact on the power dynamics in creative labor and production. Smith has previously worked in Viacom18 Media Pvt. Ltd (Bollywood) as a associate producer for nine films and a webseries and was selected as a UNESCO Asia Pacific creative specialist in 2018-19.
