I work as Professor of Sociology at the Institute of Social Studies, University of Tartu, Estonia, where I teach courses in social science research methodology and Discourse Analysis. My research focuses on socialization, mediatization, datafication, platformization, AI-zation, social acceleration, social transformations, social generations, digital skills, media use, and mental structures and value orientations. I have been the PI or Estonian country team leader in several large-scale international and national research projects, including three Horizon 2020 projects (ySKILLS 2020-2023, CO:RE 2020-2023, and CATCH-EyoU 2015-2018) and a CHANSE project (PlatFAMs 2022-2025). Since 2007, I have been the leader of the Estonian team of the EU Kids Online network, and served as an independent expert in the field of the Information Society and Media for the European Commission.
