I have a PhD from University of Oslo (2007). My work is grounded in feminist and media science, including theoretical perspectives on affectivity and emotion. In short my work addresses empirical and theoretical questions related to the 'digital society' from three perspectives:
Affect and emotions online: I work empirically with understandings of affect, and to examine affective and intimate engagements across a range of digital media among young people.
Digital methods: explores the consequences of ethnographic practice when social and mobile media are used both as tools for research and sites of study.
Health online: explores perceptions around mental health, help-seeking processes, and healthcare providers’ engagement with young people’s emotional realities.
