About

I develop theories and hypotheses for understanding play and technology in human development across cultures. Currently I'm supervising eight PhD Students and teaching classes on methodology, psychology, and games. I wrote a book on esports (Bloomsbury Academic) and am engaged with meta-science. I am running two projects: ERC Stg "Ontological Reconstruction of Gaming Disorder" (2022–2027) and "Gaming at the Workplace: Phenomenology and Health" (2021–2023, Finnish Work Environment Fund).
