Journalistica, the Nordic Open Access journal dedicated to journalism research, has launched a new podcast, Journalistica Methods. Whether you’re a journalist or researcher, the podcast offers practical, step-by-step guidance to making sense of journalism research methods.
– Research methods are at the core of journalism studies. With this podcast, we want to make them more accessible, both for researchers and for journalists who can benefit from a deeper understanding of how data is analysed and interpreted in journalism studies, says Steffen Moestrup, senior associate professor at the Danish School of Media and Journalism and one of the creators of the podcast.
The latest episode of Journalistica Methods features Cecilia Arregui Olivera and Miriam Kroman Brems from Aarhus University discussing thematic analysis, a method used in journalism studies to identify patterns and interpret meaning in qualitative data.
Listeners can also explore previous episodes covering:
- OVRI method with Lene Heiselberg (University of Southern Denmark)
- Psychophysiological methods with Jenny Lindholm (Åbo Akademi)
- Discursive analysis with Johan Farkas (University of Copenhagen)
Ideal for journalists, researchers, and media scholars, Journalistica Methods is available on Spotify.
