AI-driven Tools for Researchers Worth Knowing about

Researchers have a multitude of AI-powered tools at their disposal to assist them with academic work. We bring to the forefront two additions of considerable value.

AI, with its ability to analyse vast amounts of data, identify patterns, and generate insights at unprecedented speeds, has emerged as a transformative force across numerous scientific disciplines.

To truly leverage the potential of AI, however, researchers must navigate a complex landscape of tools, techniques, and ethical considerations.

Among the well-established AI tools often embraced by scientists are Consensus, QuillBot, Elicit, Grammarly, and Semantic Scholar. In this article, we introduce two tools that can prove valuable in advancing academic work: Avidnote and Kahubi.

Avidnote

Avidnote is an organisational tool for scientists. Beyond its core note-taking and tagging functionalities, the tool also comprises dozens of AI templates designed to streamline the processes of writing, reading, and data analysing.

By uploading a text, such as an excerpt from a research paper, the tool can assist in identifying research gaps and suggesting research methods or interview study questions.

Additionally, Avidnote can aid researchers in tasks such as handling translation, proofreading, providing academic critiques, and suggesting research conference themes or future research directions, among other functions.

A detailed guide to the tool can be found here.

Kahubi

Much like Avidnote, Kahubi encompasses functionalities related to writing, reading, and analysis. The tool distinguishes itself by accommodating a significantly larger input capacity, permitting the processing of up to 10,000 words, in contrast to Avidnote’s limit of 1,500 words.

Furthermore, Kahubi offers automated interview transcription services. By uploading an audio file from an interview, the platform swiftly generates a corresponding text transcript, with support for multiple languages.

Both tools are products of Swedish company Avidemic AB. You can find the privacy policies for both tools on their respective websites. We advise reviewing these policies for your understanding and assurance.
